Generic research: timeline of documentary history

This website contains a timeline of important events contributing to documentary as it is today. Extremely important names and events influencing the advancement of documentary are noted here, such as Robert Flaherty's 'Nanook of the North', and John Grierson's coining of the term documentary. I also find it interesting that documentaries originated from still pictures edited together.
